Lynn Staub, Director of Group Fitness and Personal Training
As director of group fitness and personal training at the Scottsdale Resort and Athletic Club, Lynn Staub’s goal is to inspire and help others achieve their health and fitness goals. And as a 12-year veteran of the industry, she considers fitness her passion rather than her job.
Throughout her career, Lynn has taught in both the corporate and private sectors, and she enjoys mentoring new instructors. She holds a Personal Training Certification and Primary Fitness Instructor Certification from the American Fitness Association of America (AFAA), as well as certifications from Yogafit, Silver Sneakers and Johnny G Spinning. And she continues her education every year at IDEAL Fitness Worldwide Convention in order to bring back the latest in health and fitness to her clients and classes.
Lynn believes that teaching and training in many formats keeps her personal training sessions fresh, so in addition to private sessions, she teaches group Muscle Conditioning, Fitness Fusion, Yoga, Pilates and Water Aerobics. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, water skiing and snow skiing.
Originally from Waukesha, WI, Lynn has lived in Scottsdale for 20 years with her husband and two teenage daughters.
Brian Fenrich, Performance Enhancement Specialist
Brian Fenrich, Performance Enhancement Specialist at Scottsdale Athletic Club is certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine and is nationally known for training many notable professional athletes, from Major League Baseball, National Football League, National Basketball Association and National Hockey League, as well as golf and tennis professionals.
Fenrich has worked individually with athletes at all levels and ages. His focus on injury prevention and rehabilitation brings a component to Scottsdale Athletic Club that is often neglected in the sport world. Years of personal athletic experience and injuries have given Fenrich valuable insight. He has helped players prepare mentally for a broad range of challenges, from winning club championships to prevailing athletically in national championships. He works closely with the team physicians, therapists and sports psychologists to tailor every program to the individual needs of the athletes.
Fenrich is an experienced athlete and understands what it takes to be a winner. His passion for sports led him to become a dynamic teacher who is able to relate closely to athletes, and explain the fundamentals of performance enhancement to anyone.
Scottsdale Athletic Club is dedicated to helping athletes at every level achieve their goals. Fenrich has developed a unique method of assessing athlete’s dynamic posture, resulting in his ability to determine physical imbalances that may lead or are leading to injury. He uses a mix of assessment strategies, soft tissue release techniques, manual stretches, and a myriad of strength and flexibility exercise to address an athlete’s physical problems. Fenrich’s varied training experiences benefit athletes of all ages and backgrounds.
In addition to being Scottsdale Athletic Club’s Athletic Director, Fenrich acts as a personal trainer for several notable athletes. He works with major league clubs to design and implement performance enhancement programs, primarily focusing on injury prevention consulting; speed agility and quickness programs and strength training with players and coaches to promote consistent successful performance. These teams include the Kansas City Royals, Arizona Diamondbacks, Phoenix Coyotes, and Phoenix Suns. He is currently a consultant to the United States Sports Academy-Doctoral Programs, and highly recommended by the United States Olympic Committee.
A 15-year veteran of the industry, Fenrich is a highly regarded trainer for both professional athletes and weekend warriors alike. Fenrich is recognized as a premier authority in sports education by colleagues in the field of injury prevention and performance enhancement. He resides in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Laura Madden
Growing up overweight, Laura Madden learned very early that exercise and healthy eating habits were means to optimal health and well being.
Since then, she has made her commitment to total mind and body fitness a way of life, working as a trainer and fitness model; developing an exercise program for pre-teen girls in Atlanta called Girl Power – a campaign to encourage and motivate young girls to build skills and self-esteem through exercise and sports; and serving as a fitness consultant for the Women’s Health & Fitness magazine advisory board.
Born and raised in Boston, Laura earned a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology Exercise Science from the University of New Hampshire. She holds certifications in Personal Training, Group Fitness, Kickboxing, Yogafit, Body Pump, Water Fitness and Pre/Post Natal Yoga, and she has experience teaching and training in fitness facilities, homes and the outdoors.
Working to create empowerment and confidence within her students is what makes Laura’s workouts successful. Today Laura’s instruction is focused on enhancing self-esteem through a lifestyle that embraces physical fitness. She teaches a variety of specially-tailored classes including: yoga, muscle sculpting, boot camp, cardio circuit training and children’s fitness and water exercise programs to help participants achieve physical fitness in every circumstance.
Laura relocated to Scottsdale from Atlanta in 2005 and has been with the Scottsdale Resort & Athletic Club since May 2005. She relishes the opportunity to help SR&AC guests and members reach their personal fitness goals through exercise and healthy eating.
Tammy Belt
Tammy Belt attended Eastern Kentucky University were she received her Associate Degree of Nursing in 1980. Her experience as a registered nurse includes four years of labor and delivery and ten years in outpatient surgery. Responsibilities ranged from admissions to operating room assistant to recovery room duties.
When Tammy and her family moved to Arizona in 1994 for her husband’s job, Tammy decided to leave the hospital setting and stay at home with her two young daughters. Once her daughters were in middle school, Tammy decided she was ready to re-enter the work force on a part time basis.
A friend suggested she utilize her nursing background and work in the fitness industry. Having been active and in gyms all of her life, Tammy decided to pursue this.
In 2003 Tammy earned her personal training certification from AFAA. Wanting to gain experience and knowledge, Tammy first taught Group Fitness Classes, later specializing in one-on-one training. Combining her science background and recent training, she loves inspiring and educating people to achieve their active lifestyle goals.
