SAC provides a list of players by NTRP ranking for game arranging. The lists are available at our Tennis Bulletin Board and at the Front Desk. The Game Arranging List is a great way to meet players at your level of play. If you wish to be on the list, please contact the Front Desk. Alternatively, the Director of Tennis can personally arrange a game for you.
From time to time, SAC will schedule an NTRP (National Tennis Rating Program) Clinic to allow ratings of our members by a certified NTRP verifier. Verified NTRP ratings are required in order to play in the USTA league.
Singles or doubles matches available (no advance reservation required). Please contact the front desk for day and times, non-member fees apply.
SAC forms doubles teams of all levels to compete against other clubs in the Valley. If you are interested in being part of a team, please contact the Front Desk to assist you in finding a team and coordinating the team practice. Participation fees vary in each league.
Throughout the year there are structured evening singles and doubles leagues organized for the 3.0 to 4.0 members. Mens and womens doubles on Tuesday evenings, mixed singles on Wednesday night and competitive mens singles on Thursday evening are offered each week during the season. There is a nominal fee for participation in each league.
For our members who enjoy recreational tennis, we offer monthly tennis social round robins, either Friday evening or Sunday afternoon each month. These events are for players of all levels and are designed to be a fun way to meet new members in a casual setting. Light refreshments are provided at the Sunday afternoon social. For the Friday evening social, we hope you will stay to enjoy a special dinner offer featured in our restaurant. Please sign up at the front desk.
Don't have time to set matches during the week or weekends? SAC offers our members drop-in doubles for all levels of play. For the past three decades the Scottsdale Athletic Club, previously known as the Scottsdale Racquet Club, has played a major role in the Southwest’s tennis community. Every December since 1973, the club has been the host of the Fiesta Bowl Senior Open Tennis Tournament. This is the largest U.S. tournament which is devoted exclusively to seniors ages 30 and above. The USTA has now designated the Fiesta Bowl as a category II National Ranking Tournament, which has attracted top players from around the United States.
We also have had the proud distinction since 1991 of hosting the USTA National Men’s Hardcourt Championship. This event has continually featured prominent national and internationally ranked players in the 35 and over category.
Since 2001, the Scottsdale Athletic Club has been a practice site for the Professional Men’s and Women’s Tennis Tournament held in the Valley in February/March. For two weeks the top men and women players in the world can be found honing their games at the Scottsdale Athletic Club. This is a special opportunity for our members to see the world’s top players up close and personal. Scottsdale Athletic Club also, on occasion, hosts a dual match between Arizona State University’s Men’s and Women’s team and another top-rated collegiate team. Members are treated to exciting college tennis at their own club free of charge.
